Workshop on “SITE PLANNING in Landscape Architecture”

A one day Workshop on “SITE PLANNING in Landscape Architecture” has been organized for the B.Arch III^rd year students on Monday, 24^th September, 2018 in the school premises.

Eminent Landscape Architect, Ms. Nidhi Madan, Director Studio EN, a landscape architecture, planning and design practice based in New Delhi, has been invited as the resource person for conducting the Workshop.

The workshop aims at understanding the fundamentals and process of site planning, the analysis, the inter-relationship between natural and manmade components, the technical outputs of site planning and their interpretation in the design process.

Teacher's Day Celebration & Poster Making Competition

Being a role model is the most powerful form of educating. So on the occasion of Teacher's day, a poster making competition was organized for the 1st year students, on the theme "Who is your Role model".

Being a role model is the most powerful form of educating. So on the occasion of Teacher's day, a poster making competition was organized for the 1st year students, on the theme "Who is your Role model".

Event 1: Poster making competition

Time: 11:00am-1:30pm

Venue: 1st Year studio classes

Teacher's Day was celebrated at MBS SPA on 5th September 2018. On this Happy Occasion a poster making competition was held for students of first year on the Theme- "Who is your role Model". The entries by students were judged by the following faculty members: Prof. V.K. Bugga, Prof. J.B. Khadkiwala, Prof. Bijay Dash, Prof. Resha Patil, Artist Jagmohan Singh

The winners were:

1st Position- Shivangi (1B)

2nd Position- Sanamdeep Singh (1C)

3rd Position- Kartik Arora (1C)

The consolation prizes were given to, Sarthak Sharma (1A), Nikhil Dhall (1A), Kriti (1C), Ayesha Rahil Ahmed (1B), Sanya Sethi (1B)

Certificates were made for all the winners.

Event 2: Cultural event for

Time: 3:30-5 pm

Venue: Seminar Hall

The event began with a speech by faculty members and wishing them Happy teacher's day.

It was followed by a speech by a student of 1st year. Importance of a teacher in her life and how teachers inspire her to work and expressed her gratitude towards teachers. Her speech was followed by a group song by 1st year students. Then there was a solo song performance by a student. Their performances were then concluded by a duet song. The event was progressed by a speech from Prof. V.K. Bugga, who encouraged teachers to help and guide students in all spheres of life and support them to improve while working towards their interests and inclination. He emphasized on the role of a teacher in molding and shaping student's inherent talents and also talked about an

important link that students and teachers share together. In the end a speech was given by Director Prof. Bijay Dash. He discussed about aspects of teacher's day. He discussed about role of teacher to inculcate honesty, sincerity, dignity in students. Then he discussed about the intention of the day, which is to respect the teachers fraternity and then he discussed that everyone is a teacher in some way or the other and everyday brings a new lesson to learn. He motivated all the learning and continue to guide the students in various aspects of life. The session was concluded by inviting all the faculty members for cake cutting and was followed by snacks and tea.
